O. Gail Poole

fellow artists as well as collectors. As you will see below, O. Gail Poole has explored the boundries of painting. He has also executed an extensive number of sculptures.

"I've always been an idealist. I judge everything artistic against the very best.
In my art I compare my work and that of others to the masters.
I paint everything from realism to the surreal.
I do landscapes, people, portraits, still-life and fantasy.
I've always felt that a 'real' artist
ought to be able to paint anything."

Growing up as an artist

Gail grew up in rural Oklahoma and lived in the state most of his life
except for several years in the military and as an artist/art director in Richmond, Virginia.
He graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a BFA in 1957
